Grove by Sutter Health

Sutter Health needed a learning platform to train physicians, social workers, and caregivers for their Grove healthcare model, focused on supporting older adults with complex health challenges. The platform required brand definition, a searchable resource library and an updatable course syllabus for senior staff.

Design with care

My approach built on Grove's core mission of 'a community that cares for a community.' Drawing from internal presentations, I embraced a simple, symbolic, and geometric design language that reflects the interconnected, natural care for the individual that Grove represents. This links back into Sutters main brand strategy, whilst providing special attention to Groves services.

All in focus

Focus for learning is the foundation here, leading to a well-organized navigation and 45 to 75 letters per line for maximum legibility on desktops and larger tablets.

Lessons in mobility

Grove learning cohorts spend much of their time onsite with patients. In consideration of this, I carefully refined the user experience on mobile and tablet devices. In a patient environment, access to the resource library takes precedence, either through the search function or with a direct lookup.
